Float idly down the beautiful Saugeen, listening to nothing but nature. You'll feel alive and vibrant! Then play a spirited round of golf at one of our beautiful area courses. Afterwards, explore the town; our Southampton Market, our beach areas. Discover the new Southampton Meat Market for a grade "A" cut- to go right on the grill of your barbecue back at the cottage. If you're still up to it, the big Salmon are waiting to challenge your angling skill. Use our boats for free !
Finally, you may want to spend some time around the campfire before you let our comfortable beds, and clean, fresh air put you to sleep like a log.
The "Bruce" is Beckoning! Get away to the quiet beauty that is found here at Southampton. Bring your camera to get the "professional shots" suitable for framing that you've always wanted. Snowshoe into pristine forest and meadow. Cross country skiing is a favourite here (try the "Saugeen RailTrail"), and downhill skiing is available at several resorts(Walkerton, Chatsworth, Kimberly, Collingwood etc.) within an hours drive from Rosewood ! And of course, come here to enjoy our less crowded, well-groomed snowmobile trails. Fishermen will find an abundance of Steelhead in the Saugeen. The season is open year round on the stretch of river where we are located. The weather dictates the safety of fishing on open sections of the river. As it can be extremely dangerous if the ice begins to pile up near shore, please call ahead to get the conditions first! Others prefer to ice fish further north on Lake Huron. Either way, there's also potential for a great fishing experience! Our town of Saugeen Shores is a recent amalgamation of Southampton, Saugeen Township and Port Elgin. Here you'll find shopping in the quaint shops, and the fantastic "Winterfest" activities to be a truly enjoyable experience. Again this year, we've kept our Winter Rates very low. In fact, they are the same as our regular Spring & Fall off-season rates! Plus! As an added incentive to get you to see why we're a great place to go to for a winter get-away, if you book a two week stay during January, February or March, we'll give you 50% off the price of your second week! If you've already checked our low regular rates, we know that you'll have to agree that this Special is an incentive indeed!
