Fishing -Of course, is the big attraction here (especially during the off season).We have boat access to Lake Huron in approx. 5 metres of water depth. Our docks* are just upstream from the public boat launch. Dockage is free for guests and we also rent boats (6Hp.+8Hp. Yamaha).
*shore anchor-no dock this year due to health issue.

The Saugeen River here at Southampton is renown for providing an excellent Steelhead(Rainbow Trout) and Salmon fishery. Other species caught here frequently are Skamania, Brown Trout, Muskellunge, Bass, Pickeral(Walleye), Whitefish, Catfish, and in the lake are Perch, Lake Trout etc.. If you prefer, you may decide to rent a charter boat from one of our local operators. Some huge fish are caught right off our docks, but there are plenty of holes and backeddies in the river for the youngsters to catch panfish or shiners.

Our fish cleaning station has running water, lighting and is adjacent to our docks. We supply free freezer wrap and fish storage.

Fun&Games - For those who like to keep their feet on dry ground, we have a Horseshoe pit for your enjoyment, and a grass volleyball court on which Badminton is also popular. For the small children there is a fenced in play area containing swings, slides, sandbox etc.. We try to keep a fully stocked Croquet set and complete Bocci Balls set available also.

At night time many of our guests like to congregate at the campfire which is central and beside a large deck. Singing and acoustic music is welcome, as well, games and prizes are provided depending on interest. Firewood is supplied at no cost, hotdogs and marshmallows are extra!(11:00PM quiet time)

Splash&Sun Fun - Around our heated swimming pool is a two tier deck on which to absorb some rays, while others are playing in the 16x32 ft. pool. Several floating aids and toys available.

 Nearby...-The BEACH is about 5 minutes away, several TENNIS courts about the same distance. Several BIKE TRAILS are here. KAYAKS & CANOES as well as a ride upstream are available. The Saugeen is a great river both for beginners and more advanced paddlers. GOLFING at the great 18 hole course across the street, the 27 hole Saugeen course 5 min. away, or your choice of at least 20+ courses within 40 min. drivewill be both fun and challenging.

For shopping you can visit some of the quaint shops downtown, or visit the SOUTHAMPTON MARKET. The SOUTHAMPTON MUSEUM, the SOUTHAMPTON ART SCHOOL, and the SAUGEEN FIRST NATIONS AMPHITHEATRE are very interesting points of interest within 5 minutes of Rosewood Cottages. In the summer of 2003 a new chapter began on Chantry Island located just offshore in Southampton. The newly formed CHANTRY ISLAND INSTITUTE offers educational forums inspired by the beautiful island setting known for its newly restored 'imperial' lighthouse and light keeper's home.
 
Day trips may include hiking on the BRUCE TRAIL, or a ride on the glass bottom boat at FLOWERPOT ISLAND. Horseback riding, a petting zoo, Sauble Speedway and many other activities in the area may be checked out by way of the links below, including information about such winter sports as:SKIING (downhill and cross country), SNOWMOBILING, SNOWSHOEING and local WINTERFEST activities.
